I am not a trophy mom. I mean I think I'm a catch, but I'm not "into" trophies.

I tend to jump on bandwagons — right about the time everyone else has jumped off, and the bandwagon’s been put up on jacks. This is why I am just now coming around to the life-changing magic of tidying up.

Now, as near as I can tell, "talking to" has replaced "dating."

I like to think of myself as a technologically advanced person.

We are rich in work ethic gleaned from generations before us. This pays dividends far into the future, even if we aren't rolling in the riches of an inherited trust.

We all love beautiful things, but there is the problem with them. They are all so fragile.

I had plans to write about how inspiring it is to be the cool mom who raves about how comfortable we are in our lived-in home.

So far I really enjoy being middle aged. I know that youth is fun but wisdom is pretty great too. I know who I am. I am responsible for myself.

Things change. Plans. People. Paint. We have left our marks in other ways.

Neighbors looked out for one another, and the kids were respectful of any adult who scolded them.
