Can you Hazard a Guess at Farnsworth’s Latest Wooden Contraption?

We had some prompt responses on Item No. 1059, submitted by Bill McChesney of New Galilee, Pennsylvania. It’s a tenon cutter, used, for example, to shape the tapered end of spindles on a chair or a spoke of a wooden wheel. Some call it a spoke shave or taper cutter.
Wendell Cole, of Lisbon, Ohio, explains, “The small end is clamped into a brace and the big end fits over a piece of wood. The brace is turned and a blade cuts the end to size.”
