Hazard A Guess: Week of April 30, 2009

by Farm and Dairy Staff

Hello from Hazard!

Loose ends: We received two more guesses on Item No. 859, but it was revealed April 9 and 16 as an egg poacher. Sorry!

And we also received two incorrect responses and one correct answer to Item No. 860, which we revealed last week. Gailey Henderson of Williamstown, W.Va., also knew it was a saw set for band saw blades.

Thanks to everyone for your mail!

The mailbag and e-mail inbox were mum on Item No. 861, so we’ll show it again this week. We show both the end, and the open side shot of the item, which measures about 16 inches in length and 4 inches in both depth and height. We’ll even share the markings: BINGO 16 G and Pittsburgh PA.

Jay Gardner of Boardman shared the item with Hazard and he’s pretty sure he knows how it was used, but it has stumped a lot of others, so he’d like confirmation. Anyone?

Write to: Hazard a Guess, P.O. Box 38, Salem, OH 44460; or via e-mail to: editorial@farmanddairy.com.

And if you’ve got a Hazard-ous item in your shed, barn or basement, send us a photo or digital photo file, along with a complete description of the item and its use. You can use the contact information above, or even send a photo via our Web site.

Until next week, enjoy the spring sunshine if you can.

Item Number 861
