Hazard A Guess: Week of March 4, 2010

by Farm and Dairy Staff

Hello from Hazard!

We heard from four more readers who knew Item No. 884, which we revealed last week, was a Schrader tire pressure gauge.

Thanks go out to: Gerald Payne, Cortland, Ohio; Dan Hilterbrand, West Liberty, Ohio; Howard Baker, Cortland, Ohio; and Joe Michalek, of Bedford, Ohio, who also writes that the Schrader Company would put any tire company or hardware store name on the unit.

The gauge we showed was marked “pat’d Mar 28 1916″, so it was definitely an oldie.

This week, we show Item No. 885 again. It was part of an exhibit Dennis Hevener had at Oglebay Park’s Fort Henry Days last year.

Anyone know how this trowel-looking thing was used?
