Hazard A Guess: Week of Sept. 25, 2008

Hello from Hazard!

We received several other correct responses to Item No. 843, which we unveiled last week as a weed puller. Dave Majlinger of Elyria, Ohio, and Joseph Kocian of Kent, Ohio, also both knew how the tool was used.

Mr. Kocian also adds that he understands the tool was originally called “Grand Pa’s Weed Puller.” Interestingly, he says the owner of the original patent handed it down and this item was recently reproduced exactly like the original and sold on the cable shopping network QVC!

What’s that old saying about “everything old is new again”?

We received a straggling response to Item No. 842, the tobacco grinder, from Dan Steiner of Orrville, Ohio. Thanks, Dan!
