No one has it made in the shade

Made in America. We’ve all known for a long time that the U.S. consumer is two-faced.
We say we want to support local produce growers but, golly, those Wal-Mart green peppers are cheaper. We’re outraged at outsourcing and U.S. jobs being “shipped overseas,” but continue to buy imported clothing.
An Associated Press poll this summer discovered few consumers check the labels to see where a product was made. And those who do are more likely to be older Americans.
We say one thing, but do another. A little more than half of those surveyed said they’d buy a higher-priced U.S.-made product over a cheaper, foreign-made one. In the under-30 crowd, however, a majority said they’d buy the lower-priced product. Nearly two-thirds of those under 30 said they rarely even check to see where a product was made.
Where have U.S. jobs gone? Ask yourself the next time you look in the mirror.
Made new. Handsome is as handsome does. Beauty is only skin deep. It’s not what’s on the outside, it’s what’s on the inside.
