Remember to report your acreage

Hello Again!

According to USDA National Ag Statistics, as of June 7, 91 percent of the corn in Ohio was planted and 92 percent of the soybeans were planted.

With the majority of crops in the ground, it is time to start thinking about reporting your crop acres to your local Farm Service Agency Office.

Crop reporting is a requirement of participating in most FSA programs. Some offices in the area have mailed out appointment date postcards, letters, or maps to their producers.

If you cannot make a pre-scheduled appointment, make sure you let your local office know.

The final date to report is July 15. Also, please remember that you will have to sign a contract to participate in the ARC/PLC program for both 2014 and 2015 in the near future.

We currently do not have the computer program for that, but should have it soon, and will notify you as soon as we do and what the deadline is for those contracts.

We should be able to make 2015 farm updates and process 2015 reconstitutions soon.

With crop acreage certification running concurrently with being able to make these 2015 records changes and 2014 and 2015 ARC/PLC contract signup, your local FSA office will be extremely busy. Please have patience with us as we assist you with these services.

That’s all for now,
FSA Andy
