We need trade, one way or another

The Central American Free Trade Agreement is expected to come before Congress this month for an up-or-down vote. And the Washington rhetoric is as stifling as the muggy June heat.
“CAFTA only gives America market access to a group of countries whose combined GDP is barely the size of New Haven, Conn.” (American Sugar Alliance)
On the other hand, U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania supports free trade agreements to “promote democracy and enhance our national security.”
