The public is invited to join Neuropsychologist Carla Arlien, Ph.D. on August 12, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Quaker Room of Salem Public Library located at 821 E. State St., Salem, Ohio for an information-filled presentation explaining what concussion is and its impact on thinking, memory and personality. Also to be covered is the role of neuropsychology in concussion management, and best ways to recover from a concussion. The presentation, which is free of cost to attend, is an installment in the Wellness Wednesday series held the third Wednesday of each month.

Carla Arlien, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and founder of Apex Psychological Care and Memory Center which has locations in Boardman, Ohio and Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Dr. Arlien received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Gerontology Minor from the University of North Dakota. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Arlien completed her internship and fellowship in Clinical Geropsychology at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Dr. Arlien is a member of the American Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological Association, and Pennsylvania Psychological Association. She is also on staff at Ohio Valley General Hospital. She specializes in neuropsychological assessment (e.g., concussion evaluations, memory/Alzheimer’s evaluations, and attention deficit disorder evaluations).
