Aged cow named grand champion

WOOSTER, Ohio — Jeff Brown, Jackson Center, Ohio, judged 82 Holsteins at the Ohio District 7 Holstein Show July 10 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio.

The evening began with 31 Ohio Junior Holstein members participating in showmanship.

The senior showmanship award went to Hannah Dye, Quality-Quest Holsteins, Beloit, Ohio; second, David Miley, Miley Holsteins, West Salem, Ohio.

In the junior division, first place went to Kelly Hawvermale, Wooster, Ohio. Placing second was Wyatt Schlauch, Velvet-View Holsteins, Big Prairie, Ohio.

Grand champion

In the open show, taking home the grand champion honor was the aged cow, Raygor Alexander Tara, shown by Raygor Farms, the Sprunger Family, Dalton.

The reserve grand champion was the 4-year-old, Wendon Windbrook Mercy-ET, shown by Cora Gunkelman, Gunkelman Family Farms, Medina, Ohio.

Intermediate champion was the senior 3-year-old, Lingle Atwood Foxxy, exhibited by Lingle Holstein Farms, Wooster. Reserve intermediate champion was the junior 2-year-old, Miley Armani WB Glimpse, shown by Miley Holsteins, West Salem.

Junior champion of the open show was the spring yearling, Rupp-Vue Sid Fabi, exhibited by Rupp-Vue Dairy Farms, Sterling, Ohio. Reserve junior champion was a fall heifer calf, Bulldog McCutch Jade, shown by Tim Gunkelman, TaG Holsteins, Burbank, Ohio.

Premier breeder and premier exhibitor awards went to Miley Holsteins, West Salem.

Junior show

In the junior show, the grand champion was the 4-year-old, Wendon Windbrook Mercy-ET, shown by Cora Gunkelman. Reserve grand champion was the 5-year-old, Aurora-Rama-Ava-ET, shown by Ashley and Kelly Hawvermale and Noah Spreng, Wooster, Ohio.

Intermediate champion of the junior show was the senior 3-year-old, Miley Windbrook Glee, shown by David Miley. Reserve intermediate champion was the second place 3-year-old, Renwind Atlantic Monica, shown by Aaron Carle, East Rochester, Ohio.

Junior champion of the junior show was the fall heifer calf, Bulldog McCutch Jade, shown by Tim Gunkelman.

Reserve junior champion was a winter heifer calf, Willow-Crest DB Alive-Red, shown by Ashley and Kelly Hawvermale and Noah Spreng, Wooster, Ohio.
