Antiques in Canton show, sale set to kick off

MASSILLON, Ohio - The Museum Guild’s 13th annual Antiques In Canton show and sale is more than just an antique show, it’s a glimpse of American history.

Dealers from Ohio and Pennsylvania will display their antiques in room-like settings March 8-9.

Offered. The show will feature country and primitive furniture and accessories from the 18th and 19th centuries.

This includes textiles, country smalls, brass, paintings, English Staffordshire and porcelain, lamps, English and American country and formal furniture on display will highlight the show.

A variety of fine Americana, as well as pottery, toys, brass, books, quilts, coverlets and other textiles, vintage and estate jewelry, oriental rugs and antique linens will be offered.

Raffle. The show highlight is a 1870 watch pin, donated by Fred Craig Personal Jewelers, which will be raffled off over the weekend.

The pin, handmade out of rose gold in a plant motif with handset seed pearls, will be on display in the lobby of the Canton Museum and raffle tickets will be available at the door.

In addition to this piece, Craig Personal Jewelers will have an extensive array of fine period and antique jewelry.

Also included in the program is a designer booth, museum guild cookbook and early American faire tasting.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 and parking is free.

Preview party. Friday evening’s preview party will kick-off the show.

The cost is $35 and reservations can be made by calling the museum at 330-453-7666.
