NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Rolling-Spring Holsteins, the Bean family of Franklin, Pa., earned premier breeder and premier exhibitor honors at this year’s Western Pa. Holstein Championship Show July 20 at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds near New Castle.
En route to the honors, they also showed the grand champion, Rolling-Spring Schz Ella-ET, a junior 2-year-old that was also named best bred and owned of the open show.
Christopher “Chip” Savage, of Union Bridge, Md., evaluated the 227 head at the show.
Another double champion
Elizabeth Stoltzfus, of Berlin, Pa., also won multiple honors. Her 5-year-old, Pennwood Dundee Turnip, was named the grand champion of the youth show, stood reserve champion in the open class, and was named best bred and owned in the youth show.

Senior champion, Pennwood Dundee Turnip, Elizabeth Stoltzfus; reserve senior champion, Fran-Kee Aden Aristotle (5-year-old), Paige Nye, Fombell;
Grand champion, Rolling-Spring Schz Ella-Et , Charles Bean; reserve grand champion, Pennwood Dundee Turnip, Elizabeth Stoltzfus.
