Bean family shows grand champion at Western Pa. Holstein Championship

Rolling-Spring Schz Ella-ET, a junior 2-year-old owned by Charles Bean, Franklin, Pa., was named grand champion and best bred and owned of the Western Pa. Holstein Champion Show July 20. NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Rolling-Spring Holsteins, the Bean family of Franklin, Pa., earned premier breeder and premier exhibitor honors at this year’s Western Pa. Holstein Championship Show July 20 at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds near New Castle.

En route to the honors, they also showed the grand champion, Rolling-Spring Schz Ella-ET, a junior 2-year-old that was also named best bred and owned of the open show.

Christopher “Chip” Savage, of Union Bridge, Md., evaluated the 227 head at the show.

Another double champion

Elizabeth Stoltzfus, of Berlin, Pa., also won multiple honors. Her 5-year-old, Pennwood Dundee Turnip, was named the grand champion of the youth show, stood reserve champion in the open class, and was named best bred and owned in the youth show.

Open show: Junior champion, Mases-Manor Lookout Imprety (spring yearling), Garret and Maggie Mase and Jeff and Nicole Ansell, Cochranton; reserve junior champion, Conno-Q Sanchez Flirt (winter yearling), Leighton Meals, Butler;

Intermediate champion, Rolling-Spring Schz Ella-Et (junior 2-year-old), Charles Bean, Franklin; reserve intermediate champion, Highland-H Atwood Tianna (senior 2-year-old), Dale Hindman, Brockway;

Senior champion, Pennwood Dundee Turnip, Elizabeth Stoltzfus; reserve senior champion, Fran-Kee Aden Aristotle (5-year-old), Paige Nye, Fombell;

Grand champion, Rolling-Spring Schz Ella-Et , Charles Bean; reserve grand champion, Pennwood Dundee Turnip, Elizabeth Stoltzfus.

Youth show: Junior champion, Conno-Q Sanchez Flirt (winter yearling), Leighton Meals, Butler; reserve junior champion, Plum-Line Sid Lettie (spring yearling), Brooke Carey, Titusville;

Intermediate champion, Plum-Line Aspen Karamel (junior 3-year-old), Patrick Carey, Titusville; reserve intermediate champion, Pennwood Goldwyn Rockette-Et (junior 3-year-old), Collin Stoltzfus, Berlin;

Senior champion, Pennwood Dundee Turnip (5-year-old), Elizabeth Stoltzfus, Berlin; reserve senior champion, Plum-Line Damion Ariel (5-year-old), Courtney Carey, Titusville;

Grand champion, Pennwood Dundee Turnip, Elizabeth Stoltzfus; reserve grand champion, Patrick Carey.
