MERCER, Pa. — Once again in 2012, the USA-EAST Championship Tractor and Truck Pull Season will begin at Mercer Raceway Park near Mercer, Pa. May 27.

Over the years, some of the top pulling vehicles in the sport have come to Mercer to start their drive to capture the seasonal championship.

Some of the best known in that group include the six-time national champion “Silver Bullet” Alcohol Super Stock tractor from Eighty-Four, Pa., with Jordan Lustik as the driver. And Dick Bonner’s national champion “Killer” Mack Big Rig Semi from Mantua, Ohio, made its first-ever competitive trip down the track at Mercer. Josh Martin and the John Deere “Dairy Deere” Pro Stock tractor from Chambersburg, Pa., made Mercer one the early stops en route to the national championship in 2007.

The All-American “Smoker Series” tractors will be one of the highlights of the event as the best multi turbo-charged diesels in the land will vie for the handsome early season prize money.

A field of 12 to 15 tractors is expected at Mercer.

The four-wheel drive trucks are also coming to the Spring Nationals as two divisions of the ground-pounding trucks are slated for the pull. Pro Street Gas 4×4 trucks use huge 540 cubic inch engines while the open 2.6 diesel trucks rely on turbo-charging to produce awesome power.

Both of these classes will be run for USA-EAST points however local non-member competitors are welcome to participate in these 4×4 truck divisions.
