Carroll County Jr. Fair plans fundraiser for new livestock facility

CARROLLTON, Ohio — Officials of the Carroll Co. Jr. Fair continue preparations for the construction of a new 70 foot-by-140 foot steel building.

During January, The Barn Wood Company from Malvern demolished the old hog barn, lamb barn and Jr. Fair office. The materials that they could not salvage were left for the Carrollton Village Fire Department to burn. On March 1, the CFVD burnt the debris that was left.

The final step will involve Dayton Excavating removing the remaining debris and concrete. This will allow for the grading to begin prior to the construction of the new facility.

Fundraiser

To help raise funds for the estimated $175,000 remaining in costs to complete the construction, the Jr. Fair is launching a collage fund raiser. In conjunction with local artist Cheri Bell and Greg Magee of CityScapes, the Jr. Fair is seeking donations from individuals and businesses who wish to have their business, logo, farm or some other aspect artistically depicted on a collage.

The collage will feature an artist’s drawing of the new livestock facility, as well as part of the fairgrounds. Below, the sponsors’ graphics will be displayed as a collage.

Each donor will receive a free print of the collage upon completion this summer. All donations must be received by April 1

Any donation of $5,000 or more will allow a donors name to appear on a permanent plaque in the barn. Any donation of $50,000 or more will allow a donors name to be permanently listed on the exterior of the building. The Carroll Co. Ag Society is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization.
