Cattlemen plan fall bus tour in southeast Ohio

CARROLLTON, Ohio — Ohio State University Extension and County Cattlemen’s Associations in Jefferson, Harrison, and Carroll counties have teamed up to offer a day-long educational bus tour to southeastern Ohio Oct. 23.

The charter bus will depart from the Carroll County Fairgrounds at 7 a.m. and from McConnell’s Meat Market at Richmond, in Jefferson County at 8 a.m.

Cost of the bus tour is $40 per person, which will include a hot breakfast on the bus, buffet dinner at Mehlmans Cafeteria, and snacks on the bus.

Registration and payment for the tour is due by Oct. 7.

The tour will feature stops at cow-calf and stocker operations in Guernsey and Belmont counties, including a stop at Dickinson Cattle Company, one of the largest herds of Texas Longhorn cattle in the world.
