Clarion Co. Fair sale totals are up

CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion County Fair 4-H livestock auction held July 30 totaled at $58,242.50, up substantially from last year’s total of $48,871.
Steers. Erica Bowersox sold her 1,185-pound grand champion steer to S & T Bank for $3.05 a pound.
M & S Meats bought Travis Smith’s 1,300-pound reserve champion steer for $1.50 a pound.
Smith also raised the grand champion beef carcass, which sold to Anthony Beverage for $1.10 a pound.
The 1,225-pound reserve champion carcass steer, also raised by Erica Bowersox, sold to J & J Snyder for $1.05 a pound.
Hog. The 260-pound grand champion market hog sold by Sarah Myers went to Custom-Fab Trailers for $4.25 a pound.
Emily Heasley’s 275-pound reserve champion hog sold for $3.25 to Hetricks Farm Supply.
Curtis Kiehl sold his 225-pound grand champion carcass hog for $3.75 a pound to Nolf Chrysler-Dodge.
Alcorn Funeral Home bought big winner Emily Heasley’s 265-pound reserve champion carcass hog for $2.50 a pound.
Lambs. Aubrie Hepler sold her 110-pound grand champion lamb for $5.50 a pound to W. & G. Livestock and Dr. Jack Drummond.
The 100-pound reserve champion lamb exhibited by Alise Huffman sold for $5 to CNB Community Bank.
The 95-pound grand champion carcass lamb sold by Cassie Marsh went for $2.50 a pound to Shelly’s Family Restaurant.
Cassidy Sintobin sold her 95-pound reserve champion carcass lamb for $3 to Redbank Chevrolet.
Goats. Alex Rivers sold his grand champion market goat to Sunrise Club Calves for $13.50 a pound.
Travis Hemm sold two champions this year, the reserve champion goat and the grand champion goat carcass.
The reserve goat sold to Smith Farms/Smith Lumber & Logging for $20.50 a pound and the grand carcass sold to R & S Machine for $10 a pound.
Alex Rivers sold his 70-pound reserve champion goat carcass to S & T Bank for $7.50 a pound.
