Collectibles sell high at auctions

– Barry Densmore and Gene Mattingly of Densmore Auctions, Madison, Ohio, held an auction June 12, with 109 registered bidders — a small crowd for the company.

The top-selling item was a Victorian cranberry opalescent syrup pitcher that sold for $2,200.

Bidding started with five or six bidders, with the winning bidder calling in by phone.

Don R. Wallick Auctions held an antique and collectible auction June 14 at their auction center in Strasburg, Ohio.

The top-selling item was an Amber Glo beer sign from Banner Brewing Co., Milwaukee, Wis., which sold for $1,150.
