MARYSVILLE, Ohio – The dates for the 15th Ohio Beef Expo, to be held at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, are March 15-17. This year will feature an expanded trade show, and breed shows and sales will be added to the event schedule.

The trade show has been bursting at the seams and the added outdoor display area will allow for larger exhibits and added areas of interest for Expo attendees. Representatives from many different companies involved in the cattle industry will be available to answer questions and provide information relevant to your cattle operation.

Youth activities. Youth activities are an on-going focus of the Expo. All participants will receive documentation of attendance at youth beef quality assurance training, which will meet quality assurance requirements for the OCA BEST (Beef Exhibitor Show Total) program, the 2002 Ohio State Fair and some Ohio counties.

The judging contest will be offered again on Saturday. The Junior Steer and Heifer show is a BEST Division I sanctioned show and will take place Sunday. The show, one of the largest junior shows in Ohio, will feature over $15,000 in premiums.

Breed sales. Purebred cattle are a focal point of the event. Additional breed sales provide the opportunity for the purebred producer to add quality seedstock to their herd. Breed shows will be March 15 and the sales will be March 16.

For more information on how to exhibit or consign cattle to sales contact the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association at 614-873-6736.
