COLUMBUS — Trumbull County native Duane Logan will lead COBA/Select Sires as its general manager, beginning in September.

He succeeds current general manager Bernard Heisner, who will retire Aug. 31.

Logan currently serves as the marketing director for COBA/Select Sires’ northern region.

“Duane has helped set the course for the organization over the past 18 years,” said board president Tom Fleming. “His straight-forward leadership style and thinking of the member-owner-customer first will continue to benefit all producers in the cooperative.”

As part of the leadership team, Logan has helped COBA/Select Sires grow to more than 1.9 million units of semen sales. Responsible for the sales and service personnel and programs, Logan has worked with the COBA team to grow market share, increase customer loyalty and develop incentive-based employee compensation programs.

In addition, Logan has been responsible for the oversight of the marketing program in Mexico.

A customer first

Logan’s experience with COBA/Select Sires started long before his employment.

As a partner, owner and operator of Loganway Farms in Farmdale, Ohio, he benefited from the very programs that he strives to improve. His 200-cow registered Holstein herd was a longtime customer with genetic lines that were developed through the Select Sires federation. In addition, Logan served on the COBA/Select Sires board prior to joining the co-op in 1994.

He currently lives in Plain City, Ohio, with his wife, Chris. They have two grown daughters.
