NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Visitors to the Hoover Historical Center during April, May and June will have the added opportunity of viewing a display of ladies’ spring and summer hats.
Easter Bonnets on Parade will be an attraction that complements the permanent exhibit of cleaning devices as well as the Victorian decor found throughout the boyhood home of Hoover Company founder, William Henry Hoover.
During past generations, a lady’s Easter attire was not just complemented by a fashionable hat, her Easter attire was not complete unless it included an Easter bonnet.
Once as common to the Easter holiday as Easter baskets, Easter bonnets, have now become a novelty as a fashion accessory.
Ladies’ bonnets displayed dating from the 1800s and 1900s are on loan to the Hoover Museum from the permanent collection of McKinley Museum of Canton.
Located within Hoover Park in North Canton, the Center is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday. Tours are free and conducted hourly between 1 and 4 p.m.
