Estes Auctions holds vintage radio auction

MEDINA, Ohio — Estes Auctions held its monthly vintage radio auction July 20 at the Expo Auction Center, in Burbank, Ohio.

More than 100 collectors from Canada and the U.S. attended.

Sale. Items from the Michigan collection included a Detrola BlueBird radio that sold for $2,900, a General Searchlight Radio that went for $800 and an AC Gilbert 1 tube that sold for $900.

A pair of Western Electric type 211 tubes sold for $975, a Truetone D-17 went for $900 and a bidder bought an Epiphone amplifier for $700.

A Detrola Super PeeWee went for $600.

Next. The next radio auction is scheduled for Aug. 31.
