Ethanol industry sets production record

WASHINGTON – The Renewable Fuels Association says the U.S. ethanol industry set an all-time monthly production record in February of 245,000 barrels per day, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)
The prior all-time monthly record of 241,000 barrels per day was set in January.
Production was up nearly 16 percent compared to the previous February when 212,000 barrels per day of ethanol were produced.
Demand. The association also says that U.S. fuel ethanol use remained strong during the short month of February at 285 million gallons, essentially the same daily demand as in January.
