Mr. Jingeling,

How you ting-a-ling,

Keeper of the keys.

On Halle’s Seventh Floor

We’ll be waiting for

You to bring the keys.

KIRTLAND, Ohio – Clevelanders will remember hearing the Mr. Jingeling jingle from the old Halle’s department store, which signaled the holiday season had begun. Now, you can step back and recall the store’s holiday heyday.

Lake Metroparks opens “Woodland Halle Days,” featuring Halle’s Seventh Floor exhibit and Winter Wonderland, Nov. 23, at the Penitentiary Glen Nature Center in Kirtland.

The Woodland Halle Days exhibit features a look back at the Halle’s Seventh floor from years gone by. The exhibit features memorabilia from Halle’s Department Store, including memories of Mr. Jingeling.

Stroll beneath a new entrance complete with mezzanine and browse among the many departments featuring new Halle Bros Co. memorabilia. Reminisce about holidays past in Mr. Jingeling’s castle and add your own memories of Halle’s in a special memories book. A Halle’s keepsake key will be given to each visitor, courtesy of KeyBank.

Other exhibits. The indoor Winter Wonderland display this year opens with Father Nature’s Cabin and his workshop. Just outside the cabin is Father Nature’s backyard, which features a wildlife habitat theme. This part of the exhibit is designed to help visitors discover ways to help wildlife survive the winter months.

The new Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center will also be open for viewing.

The Woodland Halle Days exhibit is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003. Admission is free.

The exhibit will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and closed Thanksgiving and Christmas days.
