Experience summer with more than 70 day camps

CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Lake Metroparks will offer more than 70 day camps this summer for children in preschool through eighth grade.

Camps include music, art, farming, nature, outdoor skills, fishing, in-line skating and science.

Camp Luckystone is a new camp offering field trips and a variety of activities, including rock climbing, canoeing, archery, kayaking, hiking, putt-putt golf and laser tag.

It is for students in grades one through six.

Register for three weeks and save $10 off the second week. It is offered 10 weeks.

Farm life. Farmcamps are for preschoolers through sixth graders, and participants will be able to spend a week on the farm.

Experiences include milking a cow, fishing in a farm pond, caring for farm animals and caring for crops.

Outdoors. Country Fair Camp is a camp for children who want to create a county fair complete with prize vegetables, tractors, farm animals and midway games.

Horse Sense Camp is for children in grades four to six who want to learn the basics of horse grooming and care.

First Discoveries is a series of camps for learning reverence, respect and responsibility of the environment through hiking, games and crafts.

The camps are for children in kindergarten.

Bites, beach, boat. Bite-Sized Camps are for children in grades one through eight who are not able to make a week commitment to day camp.

Ultimate Adventure Camps are broken into ages and include outdoor activities.

Beach Camp and Boat Camp include activities such as swimming, kayaking, kite flying, hiking, games, safety, nature, crafts, boating, boat construction, radio use and global positioning.

Details. Open registration begins March 10, and registration for Lake County residents begins March 3.
