JEFFERSON, Ohio — The Sew Sew Sweet 4-H Club worked together April 1 to make 200 placemats for the Department of Aging.
After the group discussed everything they needed to and played a game, it didn’t take them more then an hour to finish the placemats.
Sew Sew Sweet is a very active group. This isn’t their first community service project, but their second, and they would like to do more.
The group plans on going to JoAnne Fabrics in Hudson, Ohio On April 6. Sew Sew Sweet would like to thank Ashtabula for holding an officer workshop at Ohio State University Extension office.
Sew Sew Sweet plans on having another meeting to discuss even more during May.

EAST CANTON, Ohio — The Happy Farmerettes and Farmers 4-H Club of East Canton held a meeting March 29 at the Thouvenin home.
The meeting was led by Renee Greathouse, president. She brought the meeting to order with the pledge of allegiance followed by the 4H pledge. The minutes were read by Rebecca Maurer and approved. Olivia Maurer gave a safety report on riding your bike. Haylee Gallo gave a health report on how to make healthy food choices when eating deli sandwiches.
Members made Easter cards for the St Joseph’s nursing home and residents. Easter Blessing cards will be given out to all nursing home residents on their food trays Easter day.
Cloverbuds discussed animals that could be pets then selected materials to complete a pet poster. Members brought cat and dog item to put in the baskets that will be donated to the Swiss steak dinner.
The dinner will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. April 21 at the Nimishillen Grange, Easton Street, Louisville. Anyone wishing to purchase tickets can contact the 4-H office 330-830-7700, Ext 102 or 115. Raffle baskets tickets will also be sold.
The meeting was adjourned and members had refreshments, provided by Ben Hoover. The next meeting will be April 26.
