BROOKFIELD, Ohio — Brookfield 4-H Friends club held its monthly meeting Feb. 2. Dr. Kelley Kilar from Village Green Veterinary Service, Inc. was the guest speaker at the meeting.

COLUMBIANA — The Rough Riders 4-H club had its first meeting for the new year Jan. 8. New were elected were: Jennifer Koehler, president; Ashley DeGarmo, vice president; Mariah Eisenbraun, secretary; Chris Halt, treasurere; Meghan Miller, news reporter; Brittany Warneke, historian, and her helper Michael Mosti.

The Health and Safety Demonstration Day set for March 19 at Crestview Elementary School was discussed.

BURTON, Ohio — At its last meeting the Breeders and Feeders 4-H club member’s projects. May 19 is hog tagging from 8-10 a.m. and July 21 is project judging. Those showing market chickens can take one pen of four chickens. Those with rabbit projects have to create posters to exhibit at fair explaining to fair-goers not to put their fingers or food into the cages or pens of the animals.

Liesel Fenstermaker gave a health report on animal health in the winter. Annacy Marker gave a safety report on how to safely operate a tractor. Enrollment forms are due back by the March meeting. Valentine placemats were made for the Department of Aging. After the meeting some members went sled riding at Scenic Retreat.

Feb. 11 is a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Burton Fire Dept. at 5 p.m. for Brad Wells. Tickets are available at the door. March 17 is a beef expo. The next meeting is Feb. 19, followed by roller skating in Chagrin.

CORTLAND, Ohio — Members of the Trumbull Dairy Feeders met Feb. 5.

The club will be holding its annual buyers’ dinner Feb. 25. Members discussed food preparation and decorations.

Members also discussed repairs to the 4-H barn and a budget for the fair.

Alumni are being scheduled to speak at the March 4 meeting.

BERLIN CENTER, Ohio — 2012 officers for Western Reserve Rangers 4-H club were elected at the February meeting.

New officers include: Katherine Pitcairn, president; Alexx Hames and Levi Smith, vice-presidents; Jena Styka, secretary; Ian Hames, treasurer; Anna Marie Duda, recreation leader; Karl Reph, health leader and Richie Hedrick, safety leader.

Members were reminded quality assurance workshops for all youth with livestock projects will be held March 3 at West Branch High School, beginning at 8 a.m.

Youth 13 and older were encouraged to attend the Ohio Teen Conference March 10 at the Columbus Convention Center.

Adviser Kathleen Moser reminded members to print the club information sheets that include the club’s meeting dates for 2012 and all county judging dates and contests. Member registration forms and book orders were accepted by the advisers at this meeting.

The next meeting is March 8 at 7 p.m.
