JEFFERSON, Ohio — The Prime Bovine 4-H club met Jan. 25. Members discussed the December steer tagging, which included 64 beef steers and 15 dairy steers. Beef feeders and dairy beef feeders will be tagged May 2 and youth can tag up to four animals.
The Ashtabula County Northern Classic steer show is April 18 at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds in Jefferson. There is a $25 registration fee.
Club members will sell Little Caesars Pizza kits this year as a fundraiser.
BURTON, Ohio — Members of the Geauga Dairymen received their project books and worked on feed tag assignments at their Feb. 8 meeting in Burton.
The club reviewed and amended the constitution and bylaws.
Members will promote 4-H by creating a window display for 4-H week March 1-7. The club was reminded that each member and a parent must attend one of the Jr. Fair meetings Feb. 26, March 21, March 30 or June 20 to be able to show at the county fair.
The club approved the purchase of a gate for the 4-H dairy barn.
Hoards Dairymen forms are to be completed by each member. The club is planning to have a Land ‘O Lakes nutritionist speak to members in March.
The next meeting is planned for March 23.
ROGERS, Ohio — The Country Friends 4-H club met Feb. 2 at the Rogers Sale Restaurant to order project books.
Members also discussed the upcoming quality assurance clinic dates and times. They also discussed the upcoming square dance fundraiser on March 14. The dance will run from 7-10 p.m., but all 4-H members need to be at the Rogers Sale Restaurant by 6 p.m. All members are asked to bring two pies and wear their 4-H shirt.
The next meeting will be March 2 at 6:30 p.m.
CECIL, Pa. — The Cecil 4-H club will hold its first meeting of 2009 on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Miller Run Grange on Route 50.
A pizza party will be held along with yearly registration and the selection of member projects for 2009. Members can select from any 4-H project, but the club specializes in projects relating to cooking, sewing and woodworking.

WELLINGTON, Ohio — The Pitchfork Pals 4-H club elected new officers for 2009.
Matt Metzger is president, vice president is Corey Baumann, secretary went to Brett Grobe, Emma Northeim was elected treasurer, the health and safety officer is Kyle Kudela and news reporter is Jillian Peters.
The Cloverbuds made Valentine hearts to give away. They also started on their judging books for the fair.
Kudela talked about the melting of snow and the flood advisories. He said icicles hanging from rooftops can be very dangerous.
The club is collecting pop tabs for the Akron hospital and is also collecting used or old cell phones for the soldiers.
Members made a fleece blanket for adviser Joy Northeim, who was recently injured in a car accident.
Demonstrations were presented by Emma Northeim, pottery; Megan Kudela, steers; Devon Cowling, welding; and Brett Grobe, rockets.
CARROLLTON, Ohio — The Augusta Ranchers 4-H club met Feb. 10 at the Brown Frame Community Building. The election of officers was held.
New officers for 2009 are Brandie Tinlin, president; Jaime Sheppard, vice president; Madison Snode, secretary; Parker Snode, treasurer; Logan Snode, safety leader; Sophie Stasiak, health leader, Eriq McFadden, recreation leader and Garianna Hodge, news reporter.
Members decided to hold a bake sale March 21 at Falconer’s Annual Equipment Auction in Bayard.
Each member has been asked to bring to the next meeting a drawing using the theme “Country Life.” Members will vote on their favorite and the winner will be submitted to the FIC Committee for the milk can contest. A second drawing will be picked for the milk can donation to the barbecue chicken dinner in June.
The new county-wide activity fee was discussed and members voted to pay for each member through the club treasury.
Members turned in enrollment cards and made project selection. They also completed the Ohio Military Sheet.
The club will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Brown Frame for officer training and final changes to club constitution and by-laws. The next regular club meeting will be at 7 p.m. March 10 at the Brown Frame.
RICHMOND, Ohio — The Sunrise Rascals met Feb. 15 at Glenn Mills Community Center with 13 members present.
Cookie dough sales and window decorating were discussed.
The club welcomed eight new members.
The next meeting is March 15 at 2 p.m. at Glenn Mills Community Center on state Route 152 in Richmond.
ORWELL, Ohio — The Mustang Wranglers 4-H horse club had its regular monthly meeting and a special Valentine’s Day party Feb. 14 at Saddles Etc. & Gift Shop, Orwell.
Demonstrations were given by Natasha Sobie on horse tack and Erika Chernesky on caring for your horse.
Saddle Horse Club classes including horse bowl, hippology and light horse selection meetings were discussed in more detail.
Candy bar sales are on-going and other methods of raising money for the club were discussed.
Club riding sessions will begin soon. The next regular meeting will be held March 14.
