BURTON, Ohio — The Geauga Dairymen 4-H club met June 8. The club received 10 helper tickets for admittance to the Great Geauga County Fair from the 4-H advisory committee for donating the winning basket for the Rubber Duck Race fundraiser.

Kalyn and Dakota attended the sales committee meeting June 9. Tony, the safety officer gave a report on pool and water safety. The president reviewed the 4-H newsletter with members. Members worked on project books.

The Junior Fair T-shirt order was completed. The Junior Fair theme is Around Geauga County in Five Days with Junior Fair.

Five members are planning to attend the Ashtabula County Dairy Camp June 25. Skillathon/project judging will be July 23 at 9 a.m. at the fairgrounds. Members were reminded of Junior Fair mandatory meetings. The club plans to attend the July 30 meeting at 9 a.m.

Members discussed themes for the dairy basket they will sell at the Junior Fair Livestock sale.

The next meeting will be July 20.

BURTON, Ohio — The Geauga Beef and Swine 4-H club met June 11 at the junior fair pavilion. The junior fair report and sales committee report was given.

Money from the candy-bar sale was turned in. The 4-H camp was discussed. Two members will be attending.

The club decided to donate $100 for a class at the Benefit Cancer Open Horse Show July 23 and July 24 in Burton. The club will be helping at the show.

The club discussed getting new T-shirts and sweatshirts.

Greg Spear is setting up a swine showmanship clinic.

Following the meeting, the club had a picnic and cleaned up after the antique market at the fairgrounds.

NORTH LIMA, Ohio — The Pinelakers 4-H club held its May meeting at Mt. Olivet Church in North Lima. Members learned how to make a square knot for the fair booth display. Members were reminded of the community service Streetscape project in Youngstown on June 4.

The club is collecting items for a garage/bake sale to be held June 18 at Countryside on Route 224 near Poland.

Livestock project members reviewed upcoming skillathon and final county meeting dates. Members and families are planning a camping weekend in August.

Next meeting is June 23 at 7:30 p.m.
