NORTH BENTON, Ohio –The Mahoning County Goat Herders 4-H club had a goat meeting May 18 at 7 p.m. at O’Brocks Farm in North Benton.

The members went on a field trip to Teddy West May 16 to tour a goat farm. Members also discussed showing at Lisbon Fair Aug. 3-9 (this is an open class show).

There will be a goat show in Burton June 13-14. For members in the club there is a handling clinic June 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Stubborn as a Mule Farm.

CARROLLTON, Ohio — The Augusta Ranchers met May 12 at the Brown Frame Community Building with 10 members in attendance.

Members made final T-shirt design and color choices, picked a theme for their annual parade float, discussed project books and received help from advisers, turned in candy bar money and made final preparations for their club trip to Kalahari.

Safety speeches were given by Brandie Tinlin and Carissa Crider on ATV safety and paint ball safety by Logan Snode.

The next meeting will be June 10 for float decoration held at adviser Rona Lozier’s home.

AMHERST, Ohio — The Brownhelm Perfection & BB 4-H Club met May 18 at the Brownhelm United Church of Christ in Vermilion, Ohio, and the new club T-shirts were passed out.

Andrew Squires, who will be a 4-H junior camp counselor at Kelleys Island in July, told members about the camp’s activities. Mark Roberts gave a demonstration about building a circuit board.

Madeline Ott recited the 4-H Creed and won first place in her age group at the county level. Nathan Kromer explained how to make barbecued pork on the grill and gave everyone a sample.

The club enjoyed a field trip to Sauder Village on May 16 and were scheduled to march in the Brownhelm Memorial Day parade on May 24. They will also have a petting zoo and bake sale at Tractor Supply Co. in Amherst May 30.
The next meeting will be June 1.

THOMPSON, Ohio — The Thompson Ledge Dairymen held a meeting May 15.

At the May 3 meeting, the club completed Quality Assurance. Currently members are working on fundraisers for club T-shirts.

The Ohio 4-H Sea Camp will be held June 5, and the 4-H Day at Cedar Point will be June 26.

The last chance to attend a junior fair exhibitor mandatory meeting will be 9 a.m. June 20 at the Patterson.
