RAVENNA, Ohio — Portage Projects 4-H club has elected its officers for the coming year.
New officers are Malinda Baer, president; Bridget Neal, vice president; Ben Neal, secretary; Nate Kline, treasurer; Tori Palmer, news reporter; William Baer, health and safety leader; Buzzi Kline, historian; and Kaela Geither and Phoebe Kline, recreation leaders.
Club members received project books and discussed some of this year’s projects. Sewing, rabbits, chickens, archery, ropes, cooking, canning, freezing, small engine, finance and quilting are among the projects selected.
The group welcomes new members.

EAST CANTON, Ohio — The Happy Farmerettes and Farmers 4-H club of East Canton met April 26 at the Thouvenin home.
The members were asked by Olivia Maurer, safety leader, to recite a safety tip that is important to do during a thunderstorm. Haylee Gallo gave a report on the physical benefits from playing Frisbee and each member received a Frisbee.
The members received a thank-you card from St. Joseph’s Nursing Home for the Easter cards they made for the residents. Members also received a thank-you card from the 4-H foundation fund for the donation of money from the club.
Members discussed making and selling pet blankets for the 4-H foundation fund.
The members were encouraged to utilize the Stark County Jr. Fair 4-H website as a reference tool, starkcountyjrfair4h.com.
The Cloverbuds enjoyed a guessing game that consisted of pet items enclosed in brown paper bags. They also brought their finished pet collages for a show and tell.
The next meeting is May 10 at 7 p.m.

STRASBURG, Ohio — The Happy Harvesters 4-H club members discussed community service projects and fundraisers at their meeting April 23, held at the Lutheran church in Strasburg.
Officers recently elected include: Cheyenne Gardner, president; Clayton Vickers, vice president; Vidalia Porter, secretary, and Claire Haswell, treasurer.
Members were encouraged to attend the 4-H camp that is to take place in July.
The next meeting will be held May 7 at 7 p.m. at the church in Strasburg.

SALEM, Ohio — The Goshen Good Growers 4-H club will be led this year by the following officers: president, Charlene McGuire; vice president, Jamie Malcomson; secretary, Lauren Martig; treasurer, Mikayla Hahn; historian, Taylor Perkins; news reporter, Brent Reisner; recreation leader, Maddie Pidgeon.
The club’s enrollment is 31 members with 11 Cloverbuds. Head advisers Sharon Pidgeon and Jill Reisner are assisted by John Biery, Nancy Perkins and Cari Frantz.
Members recently reviewed committee updates and upcoming events for our trash pick up May 5 and the Bunker Hill tractor pulls in June.
The Cloverbuds gave a demonstration on the 4-H clover and its meaning and on the founder of 4-H, A. B. Graham.
Alliance Police Department K-9 officer, Nash, was a special guest along with his handler, Officer Tittle, and Smith Township Officer Thomas. They did a demonstration on a drug find and apprehending a suspect.
The next meeting is May 9, 6:30 p.m., at the Goshen Ruritan Park.
