PLYMOUTH, Ohio — Trevor Arnold, Zac Arnold, and Adam Predieri represented the Plymouth FFA at the Agricultural Mechanics career development event March 22.

Leonard Felty served as the team’s coach.

The agronomy team participated in several events to prepare for the state event. Participants in the state event were: Andie Daron, Amy Grube, and Levi Myers. Other participants included: Mikayla Reer and Brooke Thornsberry. The team was coached by Joe Ringler.

The small engines team of Zac Arnold, Adam Predieri, and Robert Richman was coached by Leonard Felty and Butch Gilger (and Met’s Machine Shop).

The equine team also participated in several events in preparation for the state event. Florenzie Ratliff represented Plymouth at the state event.

The livestock judging team participated in several career development events in preparation for the state event. Animals assessed include: cattle, equine, sheep and hogs. State team members include: Kyle Adams, Skyler Adams, and Taylor Foster.

Other participants included: Trevor Arnold, Merle Richman, and Lexie Washburn.

WATERFORD, Ohio — Members of the Waterford FFA chapter participated in the state dairy cattle judging contest that was held March 31 at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio. The dairy judging team members included Katrina Ford, James Whalin and Megan Whalin.

The poultry team participated in one event this year. Taylor Foster represented Plymouth at this event.

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Many Miami Trace FFA students competed March 31 at the Ohio State Fair grounds for their CDE teams at the state level. Teams that competed and performed well at the state level included agronomy, dairy foods, horse, dairy cattle and general livestock.

The top individuals on the agronomy team were Evan Schaefer in first overall, Judith Straathof in second overall, Landon Gibbs in fourth and Rachel McClish in fifth.

The dairy foods team received fifth in state. The team consisted of Nicole Straathof, Abby Schwenk, Daniella Straathof, Theresa Elrich, Abby Hidy and Rebecca Elrich.

The horse team placed second in state. The horse team consisted of Blake Pitstick, Abbie Noble, Kayla Kiser, Tabby Morris, Montana Born, Bryce Pitstick and Brandon Jordan. The top individual on the team was Blake Pitstick, who placed ninth overall.

The dairy cattle team placed second in state. Their team consisted of Barbara Sears, Sam Macgregor, Josh McKay, Tiarra Perkins and Cheyenne Cartee. The top individuals for the team were Barbara Sears, who placed seventh and Sam Macgregor, who placed ninth overall.

The poultry team for Miami Trace received 16th in state. There team consisted of Jaycee Perry, Austin Bennett, and Brianna Thomas.

The final team to compete for Miami Trace was the general livestock, which placed seventh in state. The team consisted of Gus Mitchem, Logan Harvel, Caleb Penwell, Caroline Hughes, Chas Grover, Jacob Rose, Colten Hughes, Taylor Coe, Sidney Ford and Scott Hidy.

The top four individuals for the dairy cattle, general livestock and horse team will be attending state finals in May to give oral reasons for their events.
