LISBON, Ohio — The Southern Local FFA Chapter celebrated FFA week March 23-27 with dress-up days, a Kiss- A- Critter Contest to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital and an Agricultural Olympics assembly for grades 7 through 12.
The chapter raised $334 for Akron Children’s Hospital, with senior Andrew Russell winning the opportunity to kiss a goat during the Agriculture Olympics March 27.

MINERVA, Ohio — The Minerva FFA dairy judging team participated in the state dairy judging competition March 21 at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Celina.
The chapter’s top three scorers were Elizabeth Berstler, Clay McKnight, and Madison Snode. Other students who participated were: Kristen Schaffer, Beth Eglie, Brie Zwick and Logan Fritz.

WEST SALEM, Ohio — On March 21, Northwestern FFA members traveled to Mercer County to compete in the spring judging contests.
The dairy cattle judging team of Cory Leighty, David Miley, Marie Clements, Ben Vaughan, and Shelby McKay placed ninth.
The dairy foods judging team of Philip Eberly, Jayden Berry, Cody Tegtmeier, Rae Rempher and Adam Miley placed first. Individually, Eberly placed first; Tegtmeier, second; Miley, third, and Rempher placed 10th.
Rachelle Howman competed in poultry judging and placed fourth individually.
The general livestock team of Jessie Bair, Kierstyn Wood, Kyle Wharton, MaKenzie Harmon and Taylor Dawson placed ninth.
The equine judging team of Marshall Geiger, Sarah Maximovich, Shania Reed, Emily Finley and Emily Flinn placed fourth, with Reed placing eighth individually.
T.J. Cromer, Hunter Kanzeg, Austen Wood, Josh Rood, and Robert Stinemetz competed in the wildlife/nature CDE, placing fifth overall in the wildlife contest and first overall in the nature contest. Individually in the nature interpretation contest, Wood placed seventh, Kanzeg placed ninth, and Cromer placed 10th.
Other Northwestern FFA members traveled to Ashland to compete in the judging contests. Kaci Way participated in the general livestock CDE and placed 22nd individually. Zach Berry competed in the dairy foods judging contest and placed 15th.

MILLERSBURG, Ohio — On March 7, the West Holmes FFA chapter sent Carter Smith to the Marysville general livestock contest, where he placed eighth.
Also on March 7, the chapter’s ag sales team competed at the state ag sales contest, finishing 10th. Individually, Jillian Gurley placed 10th; Elise Neville, 22nd; Chris Vansickle, 56th; and Shyann Kick, 66th.
