ASHLAND, Ohio — The Crestview FFA had strong representation at the Richland County Fair held Aug. 5-12 with a total of 28 participants.

On Aug. 6, the majority of members participated in the Feeder Calf Show. Placing overall in the show ring for dairy feeders included Abby Motter, third and Jacob Lewis, eighth.

Representing Crestview in the beef feeder calf show was Luke Grauer, grand champion.

On Aug. 8 was the market hog show. Placing overall as grand champion was incoming Crestview FFA freshmen Kelcie Chance who later went on to win the showmen of showmen competition.

Also placing in the market hog show was Brett Chance who claimed fifth.

The steer show as held Aug. 9. Shiloh Stuart won grand champion dairy steer and also placing was Katlyn Hulit who took home fourth place.

On Aug. 11 many of the members participated in the Jr. Fair Livestock Auction.

ALBANY, Ohio — Alexander FFA chapter kicked off fair week Aug. 3 by setting up their fair booth and assisted FFA alumni with a cookout at the Athens County fairgrounds.

The chapter also met with two other chapters Federal Hocking and Athens for formal flag raising. The booth included projects such as electrical, welding, plumbing, flaring, black iron pipe, previous state farmer display and posters. Many of the projects received an A.

Members helped by bringing in fruits and home projects that were built for their SAE projects. They showed livestock, several getting grand champion and placing in many other categories.
