WELLINGTON, Ohio — More than $20,000 in junior fair scholarships was awarded at the county scholarship night Aug. 1 to 21 junior fair participants. Seven Firelands FFA members earned many scholarships on this special evening.

Shelby Balint, daughter of Tom and Darlene Balint, of Huron, earned the Kevin N. Younglas Memorial Scholarship. Sara Laughlin, daughter of Christopher and Connie Laughlin, of Brownhelm, earned the 4-H Endowment Scholarship and the Lorain County 4-H Junior Leaders Scholarship.

Jake Myers, son of Tom and Janine Myers, of Oberlin, earned the 4-H Endowment Scholarship and the Louise McConnell Memorial Scholarship. Nick Notley, son of John and Rebecca Notley, of Oberlin, earned the Mike and Marie Yarosh Scholarship.

Gabrielle Sroka, of Brownhelm, the daughter of Kenneth and Jennifer Sroka, earned the Lorain County Junior Fair Board Scholarship and the Louise McConnell Scholarship.

Emily Teaman, daughter of Gary and Debra Teaman, of Vermilion, received the 4-H Endowment Scholarship, Lorain County Junior Fair Board Scholarship and the Mary C. Hoertz Memorial Scholarship.

Alexander Tuggle, son of Curtis and Marisa Tuggle, of South Amherst, earned the 4-H Endowment Scholarship, John W. Hostetler Memorial, Lorain County 4-H Junior Leader Scholarship and the Beriswill Insurance Agency Inc. Scholarship.
