ALBANY, Ohio — The Alexander FFA chapter held District 10 officer training April 24 at Logan High School.

Members in attendance included Zach Crabtree, Noelle Eveland, Ethan Sayers, Ben Smith, Tim Smith, Jessie Sinclair, Jacob Smith, Whitney Mullins, Heather Gould, Kathy Kasler, and Kim Holcomb. Breakout sessions were held to train the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, reporter, and sentinel.

The training was themed, “Road Trip: Chapter Success Straight Ahead.”

ASHLAND, Ohio — The Mapleton FFA chapter sent their Meat Judging team to Pioneer Career Technology Center for a meat judging invitational April 22.

The team, consisting of Shelby Rohr, Stacy Watts, Jonathan Pickering, Jarrod Brant, Jared Wynn, Ranelle Johns, Jeff Smith and Andrew Hutman, was sixth out of 14 teams.

The team will now continue on to state.

Individually, Shelby Rohr placed second overall.

ALLIANCE, Ohio — Eleven members of the Marlington FFA chapter, along with one adviser and one parent, attended the 81st Ohio FFA Convention May 1.

On Friday evening, the students attended the second session where the chapter received the children’s hospital recognition award.

Saturday morning, at the third session, Emily Conrad received her gold secretaries award, Lisa Sutton received her gold treasurer award and Lauren Hohman received her gold reporters award.

BELOIT, Ohio — The West Branch FFA held its 42nd annual banquet April 23 with 336 people attending.

The 2009-10 club officers are Austen Shoemaker, president; Billy Grammer, vice president; Courtney Stowe, secretary; Eli Dunn, treasurer; Ryan Kiko, reporter and Josh Bricker, sentinel.

Six members attended the state convention May 2 in Columbus. Liz Wyss and Amy Burt earned their State Degrees and Burt also earned her American Degree.
