JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — Hillsdale FFA soil judging team competed Sept. 28 at Crawford County. This year the Hillsdale FFA’s rural soils team placed 20th at districts. The team consisted of Keayla Harr, Megan Poynter and Logan Garber. The urban soils team placed 19th at districts and consisted of Dylan Schmidt, Amanda Garn and Hayley Sherman.

ASHLAND, Ohio — The Crestview FFA Soil judging teams competed at the state soils contest on Oct. 13 at Malabar Farms. The rural soil judging team placed ninth out of 52 teams and 185 FFA members. Placing for the team included: Luke Grauer, 14th, Bree Crider, 49th, Allie Wilson, 84th and Wyatt Brooky 93rd.

The urban soil judging team placed seventh out of 49 teams and 180 FFA members. Placing for the team included: Lance Witmer, 23rd, Katlyn Hulit, 25th, Josh Branham 70th and Carley Circosta, 137th.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The West Muskingum FFA attended state forestry Oct. 6. There were 33 teams in the competition with West Muskingum placing 19th. Dwight Bird, Mary Teisinger and Kathryn Bird represented the chapter. Dwight was the top scorer for the school with a score of 252.03.

The chapter competed in state soils Oct. 13 at Malabar Farm in Richland County. Kyle Lewis, Kathryn Bird and Dwight Bird represented West. The chapter placed 48th at the event.
