JEFFERSON, Ohio — The Prime Bovine 4-H club discussed fair preparation during its last meeting in Jefferson.
Members selected T-shirts for the show and completed Quality Assurance.

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The Country Folks and Country Barbwires met March 24. The guest speaker for the meeting was Sue Barry, a hospice nurse from Alliance Community Hospital.
There will be a 4-H swiss steak supper April 19.
Club members received their 4-H projects books and spent time going over them in small groups.

CARROLLTON, Ohio — The Pony Express Riders met April 10 with 24 members present.
Discussion included the equine fair April 12. Members will meet at 6 a.m. to carpool.
The club will host a car wash around Memorial Day and there will be a party at Rich Edward’s house April 25.
A breed report was given by Charm Evans on wild Mustangs.
The next meeting is 6 p.m. April 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

CARROLLTON, Ohio — Brown Frame Round-Up met April 6 at the Brown Frame Building with seven members attending.
Camp scholarships were discussed and members were asked to think of donations for the endowment auction.
Officer training took place and the thank-you contest was discussed.
Andrew Gascon demonstrated how to use a biscuit joiner.
Kenny Eick talked about safety with power tools and David Eick talked about oral hygiene.
The next meeting is at 2 p.m. May 4 at Minerva Bowling Alley.

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — The Milkmakers 4-H club recently held its first meeting of 2008. New officers elected include: Josh Gaskill, president; Clarissa Mutti, vice president; Amy Donato, secretary; Chris Finton, treasurer; Clark Mutti, news reporter; and Hayley Thacker, Leah and Noel Mutti, health/safety/recreation leaders.

SALEM, Ohio — The Trail Blazers 2 4-H club met recently to elect new officers. They are: Sara Kline, president; Stephanie Sondles, vice president; Sara Kline, treasurer; Ashly Christopher, secretary; Katie Capatosto, reporter; Kody Capatosto, recreational officer; and Clair Danko, safety officer.
Members voted to sponsor two new trophies, the western performance trophy, and the dressage performance trophy.
Riding meetings will begin in May.

HIRAM, Ohio — On March 30, Auburn Swine Club held its third meeting and elected officers. Leaders elected include: Tyler Briggs, president; Angela Evers, vice president; Missy Zarback, secretary; Nicole Lange, treasurer; Corey Durkee and J. T. Ward, health and safety leaders; Kelli Briggs, news reporter; Darcie Healy, recreation leader; and Jeannie Zarback, historian.
Members discussed their participation in the Relay for Life in Middlefield May 10-11. Members who participated in the daffodil sale and the kick-off dinner were thanked for their involvement.
The advisers announced pig tagging will be done from 7 a.m. until noon May 17. They also discussed the changes to skillathon.
Quality assurance training will be conducted at the club’s next meeting April 20 at 6 p.m. at the school exhibit building at the Geauga County Fairgrounds.

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. — The members of the Marshall County 4-H and FFA Goat and Rabbit Club held their first overnighter March 28-29 at the Barn in Moundsville.
The overnighter offered members a monthly meeting, a pizza party, an opportunity to learn about rabbit showmanship, and to participate in a goat knowledge skillathon.
Kyle Clark was elected as the new treasurer.
The rabbit showmanship demonstration was conducted by 4-H members from Wood County, W.Va., who spent the weekend with the club. Members taking rabbits to the fair will compete in showmanship for the first time this year.
During the goat knowledge skillathon, Shelby Harris earned the highest score.
The club announced a contest for members to design a logo to be used for club purposes. The top designs will be picked by the marketing committee for the club members to vote on at the end of April.

LODI, Ohio — The Spunky Spurs 4-H club learned a few scrapbooking tips from guest speaker Dawn Leibenguth at its last meeting.
She showed members how to safely use various paper cutters, how to tape a paper bag to the end of the table so you can easily brush in scraps and how to make a quick and easy page out of a strip of paper and a triangle.
In other news, members reported on their attendance at the horse judging team meeting at Winning Way Stables.
The next meeting is April 19 at Buffalo Creek Retreat at 1 p.m. Members should wear green or their 4-H shirts to celebrate Earth Day.
On April 26, members will sell hot dogs at the Lodi Drug Mart.

ANDOVER, Ohio — The Cherry Lyme Tail Enders had a 4-H meeting April 13.
Club members talked about holding a car wash at the end of May for a fundraiser and received their project books.

MARION, Ohio — The fourth meeting of the Highland Achievers was held April 11 at the Chesterville United Methodist Church.
Pledges were led by Faith Menders and Clayton Tolle. The club decided to sponsor awards at the fair.
There will be a 4-H open house at Mt. Gilead High School at 7 p.m. April 23. A report was given about the club’s Trash Bash efforts.
The club also held elections. New officers for 2008 are Nichole Clark, president; Brandon Mayer, vice president; Hannah Baker, secretary; Valerie Tolle, treasurer; Elizabeth-Anne Mayer, news reporter; Jason Ratliff, recreation leader; Brenna Wagoner, community service officer; J.J. Andrews, safety officer; and Ally Baker, health officer.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 25 at the Chesterville United Methodist Church.

GREENFORD, Ohio — The Village Varieties 4-H club met April 8 at the North Benton Presbyterian Church with 41 members present.
Club members discussed the 12th Street road clean up. The 4-H group picked up 50 bags of trash, five bags of recyclable materials and five bags of aluminum cans.
Several 4-H members will work at the Beloit Ruritan Club’s Steak Fry July 12 for a community service project. Also, eight club members will attend the Ruritans Aug. 7 meeting to tell Ruritan members about 4-H.
The club also discussed supporting an armed forces member by sending letters and packages. A get well card was signed by all members for a county 4-H adviser who is ill.
Safety reports were given by Gabby Sanor, who spoke on animal safety and Jonathon James, who discussed farm safety for children.
Demonstrations were given by Mary Matuzsak, on creating origami birds, while Weslie Miller gave a demonstration on preparing for piglets in the barn.
Recognition was given to Julie, Daniel, and David Phillis and Calvin and Shannon Browning for helping with the Angel Food distribution at North Benton Presbyterian Church. The next work day for Angel Food distribution is April 26.
The next 4-H meeting is at 7 p.m. April 22 at the North Benton Presbyterian Church.

HOOKSTOWN, Pa. — The Thundering Hooves 4-H club held a fundraiser during the Maple Syrup Festival at Brady’s Run Park April 5-6.
The club will hold a 4-H show at the Hookstown Fairgrounds June 14.
