ELLSWORTH, Ohio — The Western Reserve Rangers 4-H Club welcomed the Mahoning County Junior Leader 4-H Club Adviser Joe Fagnano, who was a guest speaker at the March meeting. Fagnano and Junior Leader 4-H Club President Janelle Benson informed the members of the variety of activities the club had planned for 2016.

The 4-H State Ambassador, Remi Mikan, also shared some of her past experiences as a member of the group. Paul Carittes and Andy Prosser told about some of the educational sessions they attended at Quality Assurance. Tiffany Voland and 2015 4-H Queen Shannon Marshburn encouraged the members to apply to be on the County 4-H Fashion Board.
Information about the Zika virus was reported by Health Leader, Camille Kirk. She also encouraged the audience to use insect repellent when outdoors, as this virus is spread by mosquito bites. The next club meeting will be April 14 at the Ellsworth Fire Hall, beginning at 7 p.m.

CANFIELD, Ohio ­— The Mahoning County Junior Fair Board met March 16, to begin planning the 2016 Canfield Fair. Officers elected for 2016 included: Andy Prosser, president; Renee Reisner, vice president; Cathy McCracken, secretary/treasurer; Nathan Kalinay, assistant secretary/treasurer; and Kristyn Svetlak, news reporter. Guest speaker Magistrate Anthony D’Apolito shared information and tips on job applications and interviews and prepared them for what to do before, during, and after an interview.
Upcoming community events include: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, March 26, at Canfield Fair Park; and the Animal Baby Shower, April 10, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., at Mill Creek Metroparks.
