ALBANY, Ohio — Alexander FFA held its Annual FFA banquet, April 10. Many awards and recognitions were given including: greenhand and chapter degrees, soil judging, livestock team, public speaking, state FFA band members, ag sales, job interview, creed speaking, ag mechanics skills, proficiency awards, as well as academic awards.

Star Awards were given to outstanding freshman Madison Booth; sophomore, Jena Fulton; junior, William Rioch; and senior, Jenna Montle. Dave and Karen Bright and Howard and Laura Swart were awarded the Honorary Chapter Degree.

New officers were installed including: Zach Howard, president; Chace Harris, vice president; Madison Booth, secretary; Hannah King, treasure; Harlie McVey, reporter; Alyvia Purnell, sentinel; Jena Fulton, student advisor; and three committee chair members, Maya Sherman, Dylan Boivin and David Douglas.

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio ­— The Hillsdale FFA chapter competed in state CDE competitions, April 2, at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. The Agronomy team placed fourth with team members: Libby Hohler, Josh Davis, Alex Becker, and Alyssa Crytzer.

The General Livestock team consisted of its top four placers, Sean Fitzsimmons, Ben Raudebaugh, Mike Garn, and Adam Cutlip, and Equine Management included team members: Aubriana Gibson, Taylor Rebman, Chandler Petush, and Molly Moffett.
The Milk Quality and Products team placed third with team members: Kate McGovern placing fourth individually, Keirah Smetzer placing 15th, Adrianne McPhillips placing 19th, and Maryellen Bliss placing 37th. This team will compete at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin in October.

The Poultry Management team placed fourth in the Ohio FFA Poultry Management Preliminary contest with team members: Adrianna Rogers, Sydney Long, Shelbi Long, and William Yeater. The team advances to the poultry finals, April 30, at the Ohio State University. The Dairy cattle team placed 10th with team members: Matthew Way, Molly Moffett, Kate McGovern, and Bethany Heiby. They will also advance to finals April 30, in Columbus.
