REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio – A combined fire safety expo and “fire muster” will take place June 8th at the Ohio Fire Academy grounds in Reynoldsburg.

The show runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the OFA grounds, 8895 E. Main St. in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Learn about safety. “This event brings together the best of the best,” said State Fire Marshal Robert Rielage. “It’s a great place for a family to spend a few hours learning about safety, about the jobs that firefighters do, and have a chance to look at how firefighting equipment has evolved over the years.”

The expo and muster is a cooperative effort between the state fire marshal’s office and the Central Ohio Antique Fire Apparatus Association.

“We’ve put a lot of thought into planning the event, to give kids and their parents a chance to get involved in interactive displays and demonstrations. There literally will be something for everyone, from the antiques buff to the animal lover,” said Rielage.

Interactive displays. Last year, more than 100 antique and modern fire trucks, interactive displays and demonstrations were present. Officials expect a similar response this year with equipment ranging from 19th century steam pumpers to 21st century bomb robots.

Hands-on fire safety activities and a demonstration by the state fire marshal’s arson dog will be also highlight the event, and a flea market will offer thousands of items for fire service buffs.

Fire buffs statewide will be bringing more than 75 antique fire apparatus and vehicles. Fire collectibles will also be on display and for sale.

Free admission. Parking and admission are free. Food and drink will be available for purchase on the grounds.
