First book about Lake Township released Sept. 20

UNIONTOWN, Ohio – The first book written regarding the history of Lake Township in Stark County, Ohio, will be released Sept. 20 at the Hartville Kitchen in Hartville.

The writers of the book, all volunteers, under the direction of Editor Elmer Yoder, provided various parts of the history of Lake.

Twenty chapters, including an extensive chronology and index are part of the text.

A team of local historians and writers include Dale Knowles, June Stoll, Richard E. Werstler, Gene R. Snyder and Steven Espenschied.

Fifteen historic icons that describe the township and its past are on the cover of the book and an explanation of each icon is described on the inside cover. The back cover states briefly the geographic location of Lake Township and the history of the Lake Township Historical Society.

The book, Introducing Lake Township, can be purchased in the lobby of the Hartville Kitchen Sept. 20 for $25.

Thereafter books may be purchased at selected local stores or through the Lake Township Historical Society, 1101 Lake Center St., P. O. Box 482, Uniontown, OH 44685.
