High seller at Estes auction is Mignon RC-2 radio

MEDINA, Ohio — Estes Auctions held its monthly radio auction July 23 at the Expo Auction Center in Burbank, Ohio.

One hundred forty collectors from 12 states were in attendance.

High sellers

Highlights included a circa 1917 Mignon RC-2 that sold for $5,700, a Nesco 143 that went for $1900, an Atwater Kent Model 10 went for $1300 and a Kennedy Type 1 sold for $750.

A Western Electric 25 amp with a missing cover sold for $1200 and a Deforest D-10 went for $675. A power amp speaker sold for $2000, a Western Electric 212 tube sold for $700, a wireless specialty detector sold for $475 and a Western electric 14A went for $500.

Other sellers included a Deforest F-5 that sold for $600 and a King Amplion horn speaker went for $425.

Next auction

The next vintage radio auction is scheduled for Aug. 13 at the Expo Auction Center.
