CLINTON, Ohio – The Clinton Historical Society will sponsor several events for Memorial Day, May 28, in the historic village of Clinton.
An all-you-can-eat pancake and ham breakfast will be held at the Clinton Fire House on Main Street. Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children 10 and under. Coffee and juice are included.
A raffle will be held at 10:30 a.m., with top prize an Amish-made Glider from C.W. Country of Norton, valued at $155.
Other top prizes include a $100 savings bond from Chippewa Valley Bank of Canal Fulton, $50 cash from Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home of Canal Fulton, $100 candy basket from the Covered-Bridge Drive-Thru and an original painting from local resident Jack Downs. Many other prizes have been donated by local residents and businesses.
Tickets are on sale at Covered Bridge Drive-Thru and Susie’s Beauty Shop on Main Street and at the breakfast.
A parade is at 11 a.m. with local fire departments, Canal Fulton VFW, classic and antique cars, children’s parade, WKDD’s Barbara Adam (former Clinton resident), the Northwest High School Band and floats. The parade route follows Comet Road, North Street, Main Street and South Cleveland-Massillon Road to the cemetery.
Cemetery services immediately follow parade with Northwest High School principal John Hexamer as speaker. Shane McCaslin, associate minister of the Clinton First Church of Christ, will offer the invocation and benediction
All proceeds from the breakfast benefit the Clinton Historical Society.
