BRATTLEBORO, Vt. – Bob Heilman, co-chair of the Holstein Foundation 2004 Fund Drive, reports that the drive has reached over 20 percent of its financial goal.
Heilman said over 50 percent of the contributions have come from first-time contributors.
New approach. A new approach has been made in the fund drive. Dick Chichester, chairman of the board, believes that the joint letter he and Holstein Association USA President, Tom Nunes, sent to association membership was responsible for increasing the percentage of new contributors to the foundation.
The Holstein Foundation sponsors educational programs for dairy youth and young adults. The foundation supports popular events such as National Dairy Bowl, National Dairy Jeopardy and Young Dairy Leaders Institute.
Contributions. Contributions to the fund drive will be accepted until March 15. Contributions can be made to Holstein Foundation, P.O. Box 816, Brattleboro, VT 05302-0816.
