Junior Grange royalty begin reign

CADIZ, Ohio – Junior Grange royalty were crowned at the 128th session of the Ohio State Grange convention held recently.


Allyssa McMullen, daughter of David and Karen McMullen, was crowned as Junior Princess and Luke Widder, son of Les and Dana Widder, was named Junior Prince.


McMullen is a member of Geauga County Pomona Junior Grange. Widder is a member of Winfield Junior Grange in Coshocton County.


Elizabeth Swaggard, a member of Mile Branch Junior Grange in Columbiana County, was named first runner-up junior princess. Christopher Bunge, of Jefferson Junior Grange in Knox County, was named first runner-up junior prince.


Another highlight of the junior pageant was the awarding of three Super J.G. Awards. McMullen, Swaggard and Brittany Baum, of Mile Branch Junior Grange, were awarded the highest achievement award available to Junior Grange members.


This award is earned by passing a written test, in addition to demonstrating knowledge of junior grange procedures, and participation in junior grange activities and contests.
