Bill Neptune of New Concord, Ohio, set a new record at the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival. Neptune’s entry tipped the scales at 1,503 pounds. That’s 328 pounds heavier than last year’s king pumpkin and 214 pounds larger than any other pumpkin displayed at the festival during its 46 years.

Second place went to David McMullen of Monaca, Pa., with a 1,240 pound entry. Two men from Nelsonville, Ohio, Mike Helberg and Jerry Dishong, took third with a 1,220 pound giant.
