Kohl to lead young farmer series at APD

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Dr. David Kohl, professor emeritus with Virginia Tech, will be featured at three Ag Progress Days events Aug. 16, hosted by AgBiz Masters, a learning series for young and beginning farmers.

Views from the Road, will be given twice, at 11-11:35 a.m. and 1-1:35 p.m., and will cover Kohl’s views on economic trends from his travel experiences.

The discussion will focus on emerging trends in the marketplace, consumer trends and governmental shifts predicted in 2017-2025. The presentation will end with a question and answer period.

Financial Management Tips and Techniques will be Noon to 12:35 p.m. This session will present practical techniques of planning, strategizing, executing and monitoring a business.

Events will be held at the AgBiz Masters tent located at 715 on East 7th Street at Ag Progress Days.

A short graduation ceremony will be held at the beginning of each program to recognize recent AgBiz Masters graduates. Light refreshments will be served.

Young and beginning farmers attending any of the three events will receive $6 in food coupons to use at Ag Progress Days. Registration is not required.
