PITTSBURGH — Inaugural Pa. MarketReady workshops will be offered this spring in western Pennsylvania.

A first session, highlighting local food sales to restaurants, will be hosted by the Penn State Extension Allegheny County office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 19.

The MarketReady Producer Training Program was designed to provide local food producers with professional marketing education aimed at improving their sales relationships with prospective buyers.

MarketReady is a national program developed by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service. It was adapted by Penn State University Cooperative Extension and addresses market development risks and relationships that small producers must manage as they develop their supplier network with local restaurant, grocery, wholesale and food service buyers.

Interested food producers may visit www.cvent.com/d/bcqkh5 to register or contact Heather Mikulas at 412-473-2540 or hem12@psu.edu for more information.

Cost

Registration is $75 per session, which includes course materials and lunch.
