REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio – Youth from Ohio and Pennsylvania battled for bragging rights at the National Guernsey Youth Dairy Bowl Contest, June 22, in Sacramento, Calif.
Three junior teams and five senior teams competed in the double elimination contest to decide the champions.
The finals were held front of a large crowd of family, friends, and supporters. In the junior division, Pennsylvania defeated Ohio to go undefeated. Members of the winning junior team were: Abby Trotter, Enon Valley; Doug Morrow, Tyrone; Colin Sollenberger, Spring City; and Ryan White, West Middlesex.
The runner-up team from Ohio consisted of: Carrie Davidson, Hillsboro, Ohio; Justin Davidson, Hillsboro; Kaleb Kohler, Baltimore; and Angie Boesche, DeKalb, Ill.
Senior winners. Ohio and Pennsylvania were the finalists in the senior division as well, with Ohio prevailing as champions.
Members of the winning team were: Seth Kohler, Baltimore; Hannah Kohler, Baltimore; Lucas Ayars, Mechanicsburg; and Stephen Oechsle, Ohio City.
The members of the second place team from Pennsylvania were: Jeff Ansell, Scottdale; Chip Ansell, Scottdale; Kevin Sollenberger, Spring City; and Ron White, West Middlesex.
