WASHINGTON, Pa. – The second annual Olde Tyme Horse trader’s Fair will be held April 28 at the Washington County Fairgrounds, sponsored by the Mountain Valley Trail Riders.

The fair is billed as one big equine trading event, with the opportunity to show animals for sale at less than the cost of advertising them.

Horses, ponies, mules, and donkeys will all be bought, traded, and sold.

Sellers can sell from their trailers, or they will be able to rent a stall.

There will also be a parade of equine at 11 a.m., and a Bob Sage horse starting clinic from 1-4 p.m.

Raffle tickets for a saddle, free breeding to a paint stallion, 1,000 pounds of feed, and three gift certificates are being sold for $2 or three tickets for $5. The drawing will be held at the fair at 4 p.m.

There will also be door prize drawings throughout the day.

A tack and equine craft venders area has been established this year, and a flea market for used tack will be established under a domed tent. Those who have tack they would like to sell can lease a table for $5 on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Cost of showing equine will be $15 per head at the trailer, or $30 per head with a stall.

Admission will be $2, with children 12 and under admitted free, or $5 per carload. Proceeds will benefit the Mountain Valley Trail Riders volunteer program.
